This week we saw the roll-out of Apple’s iOS 18.
With it came fun new customizations for your home screen, new reaction options for imessages, and more. However, did you know that it also came with updates that can help you run/market your small business? Let’s dive into 3 ways iOS 18 can help your small business.
Content Creation
When it comes to marketing your small business, content creation is king. Luckily, iOS 18 has some updates that can make it easier for you to create high-quality content at the tip of your fingers.
- Image Playground: Image Playground is a new suite of intuitive tools that can aid in creative photo and video editing. It can do things like automatically remove a background which can be super helpful when you want to get a picture of just your product.
- Enhanced AI Filters: These new filters with iOS18 can automatically adjust lighting, color, and contrast for both photos and videos resulting in professional-looking photos without the pain of adjusting each piece. These filters also use AI to learn your preferences which can help keep your content consistent and within your ideal aesthetic.
- Advanced Video Editing: Ever been stuck editing a video for hours? Same. Luckily, now iOS 18 provides enhanced video trimming, making transitions and effects much easier to input. It also leverages AI to suggest cuts and edits based on the rhythm of the content.
Collaboration
Even with small teams, communication and collaboration can be tricky. Here are some ways that iOS 18 can help make it easier to align your team.
- Collaborative PDFs and Documents: Now with iOS 18, you can collaborate directly in apps like Notes and files. This allows multiple users to work on a single PDF document in real-time. Total game changer when it comes to collaborating on PDFs.
- Shared Reminders: The Reminders app also saw an upgrade where now a reminder can be shared with others. This can allow teams to track important tasks and stay on top of projects.
- FaceTime Collaboration: Now, during a FaceTime call, you can share things like notes and documents, even apps without leaving the conversation. This adds a whole new option when it comes to setting up those weekly meetings.
- Mail Collaboration: Apple Mail also saw an update that allows you to have a shared mailbox. This is great for those email marketing campaigns where you need the whole team to be able to access the same mailbox. It also offers smart categorization to keep your inbox looking fresh.
Productivity
As a small business owner, you may wish you could clone yourself to get more done. While we are a ways away from that (unfortunately because that would be really cool…or scary…both...definitely both) iOS 18 has some productivity features you may find useful.
- Improved Multitasking: With the new updates, you can now switch between apps more quickly, use split-screen functionality more efficiently (my personal favorite), and access widgets that update in real time without leaving your workflow. These will all help you stay on task as you try to edit that blog post for the 1 millionth time.
- Improved Focus Modes: When you really need to get stuff done, there are now more customizable focus modes with iOS 18. Now you can automatically tailor which notifications you get on the focus modes as well as app layout based on the task you are working on.
I know that I am excited to try these new updates - and change the colors of my apps because that just sounds like fun.
Which update are you most excited about?
